The DealKids are out of school this Monday to pay respect to Martin Luther King Jr. and his ideals. How many us really take the time to talk to our kids about the Man and what he was trying to do for Civil Rights? Unfortunately, at the DealHouse, I am embarrassed to admit that we never delve into this day of remembrance, nor do we give the respect due during Presidents' Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day....etc, etc. This year, let's talk with our kids about why we have a day off for Dr. Kings birthday. If you do not have kids, spend some time in reflection regarding this holiday. I'm not being political, rather, I'm taking more responsibility for the education of my kids for those who have come before us.
